zambia played as a unit and Ghana failed to utilized their strenght and quality. Once again I think we Africans have the worst syndrome that says the best player is the one based in europe, yet we forget that the same europeans see the best in Africa.

Permalink Reply by Phillip Etinosa Osagie on February 10, 2012 at 12:45 You see, Ghanaians should stop playing football with their mouth but on the field of play instead. I predicted this result after I watched their first match against Botswana. Infact, I concluded that Ghana were good enough to win the trophy. Then subsequently after their further matches with Guinea and then Tunisia it was clear that they were winning matches by luck not as if they were better than most of their opponents. Football in Africa has gone beyond big name dominance. Look at Senegal, who ever expected that they will leave the tournament as quick as they did? Did you watch Equitoria Guinea and Gabon play. Ghana cannot beat any of these two sides, it took hell to outplay Gabon. And that is the reason I respect Ivory Coast. When I watched Zambia in a friendly against the Super Eagles of Nigeria who did'nt qualify for the AFCON (no thanks to Guinea) I knew they were up to something. Nigeria and Ghana play almost the same brand of Football and even though the SE beat them by 2 goals, they were using that game for the West African Challenge they were likely to encounter during the tornament proper. Although, Ghana was their first casualty but one thing is sure Ivory Coast would have gotten the warning. On the Final of AFCON! I have a slight flair for Zambia because of their Bench (Coach) but I give it to Ivory Coast because of their Super Stars. Ivory Coast 2 : 0 Zambia (my prediction). Ghanaians don't get me wrong, it's not a thing of dislike but for correction purposes, when any country is staged against you guys (Ghana) expect hell from them it was once like that and it's still is for the SE of Nigeria.
Permalink Reply by Phillip Etinosa Osagie on February 10, 2012 at 13:04 "Ma broda" you are right, since that fortunate quater final berth that they achieved at the last world cup, it has always been football by mouth from Ghanaians and always playing down the once dreaded Super Eagles of Nigeria. This is a Team they themselves had respect for between the period of 1994 - 2002/2004. So you can see why we are laughing at them ( Ghana) now. The truth is that, they too usually have reservations for Nigerian teams whenever they play badly in a competion.

Permalink Reply by SammieOgbu on February 12, 2012 at 10:10 My brother "no hell" happened to Ghana. That is what the game of the round leather is all about. What did you expect? Are you another Segun Odegbami who gave it to Ghana even before the kick-off? I was not surprised by the results. Football is played on the green turf and not on the sports pages. That is why people like Odegbami will never be coaches because they cannot read teams or players well.
Ghana is a good football playing nation and one of the best in Africa, however, have they improved since 2008. The answer is no. However, their team is tactically disciplined and their players are very young and also they have pride playing for their country. Their problems are quite obvious. They are short of strikers and their standard of play is like 60%.
That brings me to the next point; After watching this years nations cup (2012). Am I impressed with the standard of play, the answer is no. This brings the question about if African football is really developing.
And for my own team The Super Eagles. It is obvious Nigeria have the greatest pool of football talents in Africa. We have a football culture , which is attacking and entertaining football. But we have not yet come across a good coach with technique and the tactical awareness to scout for players, to coach and to impact pride and discipline that can make us great again.
My team Super Eagles are not doing great now. Anyone who wants to abuse or criticize the team should be left to do so. The teams problems are quite obvious. And the most obvious is that we are no more the giant of African Football. And Football teams such as Togo, Benin Republic, Gabon, Mali, Angola and Zambia are improving all the time. And we still have Egypt, Tunisia, Morrocco, Ivory-Coast, Ghana and Cameroon to contend with too.

You are guys are always praying that Ghana should fail. But Ghana (Stars) seem to be soaring high above the eagles. Ghanaians played a major role in your educational sector, help build your so called Abuja capital as well thought you guys how to kick football. Instead of you guys been grateful to Ghana for opening your eyes, you are rather trying pull Ghana down. In you bid to pull Ghana down, just remember that you pulling yourself rather down.
When Ghana lost to Brazil in the 2006 WORLD CUP in Germany, your too-know coach in the person Eguavon, i hope i got the name right, was on supersport talking rubbish; he alluded to the fact that If Nigerian had gone to the 2006 world cup in Germany, they would have done better than Ghana. But happen when Nigerian qualified to the 2010 World Cup in Africa? They played one of the worse and pathetic football in the history of World Cup; one of your players called Yakubu set one of the biggest record in world cup history by squandering one of the easiest opportunity to score a goal. I bet you my 2 year old daughter would have easily scored that Goal. Ghana on the other hand all went all the way to the quarter-final and had it not been for the dare-devil Suarez we would have been to the semifinal and probably kept the World Cup in Africa.
Instead of you guys trying to pull Ghana down please pray for the dwindling State of Nigerian football. We Ghanaians are praying for you, so that you football will start flourishing again. After all Nigerian is Ghana's kid (little) brother. If you don't understand, go back to your history note, and it clearly stated that that Ghana got it independence before Nigeria. '' Don't disrespect your elder brother because you are wealthy and bigger that him".
Good Bless My Homeland Ghana.

You have your facts upside down and that's why I always say that Ghanaians are not only cowards but will always have a complext at the sight and thought of Nigerians. You built Abuja But you cannot build Accra imagine. Look at who is Talking about "Funny Nigerians" always pulling down Ghana. You even went on to call Nigerians "Kid brother to tiny Ghana". You must be another empty barreled Ghanaian. Oneday you will even say that you taught us how act movies and play music, you copy cats. For your information you got independence before us but we are far ahead of you in civilisation and all works of life. What do you Ghanaians know? You thought football is played with mouth. Zambia has never beaten Nigeria in football and will never beat Nigeria in the near future. So you fools lick your wounds and stop rubbing it onto others. That was only your Second world cup appearance. Let people that have gone more world cup editions complain. Will your country be the first from Africa to get to quarter finals. Cameroun and Senegal did it in the past long before you got your first qualification and there has been no noise. Please get this into your "Black Empty Head" Ghana and I repeat Ghana can never be equals to Nigeria in any sphere of life. Brains, Gangsterism, Cultism, Mafiarism, Christianity or Religeon, Music, Sports generally, Wealth, Fasion, Naturally edowed resources you name it. We are bigger and will remain so forever, you can look for the nearest Lagoon around you to jump into because this a fact and you know it "Coward".
Permalink Reply by Phillip Etinosa Osagie on February 20, 2012 at 13:49 Why don't you Ghanaians play Basket ball? The reason is that you have race of very short people. If you were good at playing that sport 'am sure you'll also use your mouth to play it. I don't usually see your position on the score sheet of the Olympics or at the All African Games and yet you are a big brother. A good sporting nation should be an all rounder. We even went to world cup for beach football, we've never seen Ghana there or are you better in the female category of Football? What laurels have you won for Africa in that category or you taught us how to play that one too? Mind you Nigeria won the silver medal at the last world cup for under 20s in that category. You guys have a complex for Nigerians and always trying to run Nigerians down.
